Day 22 - 7/9/10
Bruschetta!!! So official time check...it's 11:54PM CST. I don't care about what time this blog is published, as long as I begin before the day is officially ends I'm good to go. Anyways, I got to have a nice lunch with my friend Lindsey at her house. I heard that she had a bruschetta craving from the night before so we decided to make some. For those who have never had it, bruschetta is basically french bread fried in olive oil with sauteed vegetables (peppers, onions, tomatoes. etc...you could add meat too) piled on top of it. It is pretty easy; next time, we just need to watch the smoke from the oil. In the end, it was delicious and healthy and it was a great opportunity to catch up with her.
As for the rest of the day, I took a quick trip to work and then to a friend of mine's surprise birthday party. It was great to see all of my old high school friends again. I've come to the realization that I'm feel a little old when I'm with most of my Alexandria friends. It isn't much a bad thing though. Most of my LSU friends are more around my age but a lot of the people I met and hung out with in high school were Class of 2010 and so on. I guess I just meshed better with them. I find it awesome to know that I can take a year to myself in college and come back home and know that my old friends will still welcome me. Of course, there will be plenty of catching up to do but for a talkative person such as myself, that's the easy part.
