Day 227 - 1/29/11

Yes, I'm late. Yes, I know. I really lost track of time as I was going about my day and night. But here I am, tech decking into a new day. For those who don't know, tech decks are the equivalent of mini skateboards for your fingers. Childish, I suppose, but it was a neat thing I picked up towards the end of high school. Believe it or not, there is some technical skill required in playing with those things. I'm not an expert (such as this person) but I could do the basic tricks. Ollies, pop-shove its, grinds and whatnot. Action sports was actually one of the first sports I started following. I remember as a kid watching the summer X-Games for the first time on TV and being so fascinated in how each of the competitors would fly through the air so easily and with such control. Watching Tony Hawk land the first ever 900 on a skateboard live in a competition is one of most memorable moments that I honestly say shaped my love of sports. I have been trying to ride an actual skateboard as of late. I doubt that I will want to do any tricks but I could definitely use a set of wheels to get around campus a little faster.
