Day 176 - 12/10/10

It is finally over. The fall semester of 2010 is officially finished. I am at my house sitting on my couch watching my little brother play Call of Duty. For the first time in four months, I can take a breath. It feels great. Of course, it is a bittersweet feeling though. Before I left campus I took one last photo of the giant Christmas tree. I took a moment to breathe in the air and bask in season LSU style.

I look back on this semester and I can honestly say it was well worth the stress and anxiety that came with finals. I have met a lot of new friends, learned plenty, and I am closer to finding my place on campus. The transition into sophomore year is tough. As a freshman, I got a taste but I realized that this semester has really pushed my limits. I took a super heavy course load. I have joined more organizations. I even had a mentee to guide for a short period of time. I am very blessed to be where I am. Part of leaving campus for semester break is missing all the people I become so accustomed to seeing everyday. My group of friends is very diverse and spread throughout the country. I want to wish all of them a happy holiday season! Enjoy it! Let us not rush too quickly in preparation for January 14th.

Personally, I think I might sleep for the next 14-15 hours. I haven't had a decent 9 hour night of sleep since about...umm August. My bed is looking absolutely lovely and it is all to myself...

So now that I am back home...what's next? Hmm, I don't but the one thing I have learned from good ole A-Town is that sometimes you have to create your own fun. Right now, I want to kick back and relax. My mind needs a break.

-R.D.

P.S. I made an A in my econ class. I am pleased...hopefully the rest of my grades turn out good too.
