Day 161 - 11/25/10

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope your day was filled with friends, family, football, and FOOD. I am not a huge turkey fan but there is a rule that I will enjoy it's trytophan loaded goodness. In case you didn't know, trytophan is a chemical molecule that makes you sleepy. That is your little biology factoid of the day.

In honor of the main theme of Thanksgiving: giving thanks, there is a small list of things I am so very thankful for...

-Family -They know me better than I know myself. They support me. They inspire me. They love me. I'm extremely lucky. One day I will be able to make up for all the sacrifices they have made for me.

-Friends - Honestly, they have taught me about the world around me. That is no knock on my parents either. Being an immigrant, everything I experience is completely new and unique in perspective. My friends have helped me gain it. They have accepted me into their lives with enthusiasm and love. To have friends, you must be a good friend. I'm honored to have so many who consider me theirs.

-LSU - When it came to college, I could had picked anywhere. Within reason, of course. However, when you felt as strongly about LSU as I did, it is hard to imagine going anywhere else. Stepping on that campus for the first time was like glimpsing into my future. Everyday that I am in Baton Rouge is a new adventure. I know by the end of tenure at LSU I would had been a part of something bigger than myself. My college years are too important to be anything smaller.

-My readers - For those who read, I am humbled. The internet is a massive space. Sometimes I wonder if this whole project is a waste of bandwidth. I said from the very beginning that getting known or famous was not the purpose of this. I wanted my friends and family to have a small glimpse into my life. For those who read and have stuck with me, I truly thank you. I understand some days the content isn't too good or interesting but I can promise you that it is real. And reality is the greatest gift I can give to you.

Happy Thanksgiving.
