"We cannot change our past. We can not change the fact that people act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have and that is our attitude." -Charles R. Ssindoll
Time has always been a mystery to me. In certain moments, you want it to fly by, others you wish it would stand still forever. I have had plenty of both in my life. And the most important thing I feel that I have come to grips with is the fact time and regret don't mix. But, time and forgiveness do. Recent events have shown me that as bad as some of the mistakes I made before were, it was inevitable and necessary that I made them. You have to be comfortable and accepting of your past in order to stay on path to your future and consistent with your present. A friend once told me, "Time heals all things, except for glaciers, sucks for them." And it's true, but let me add one more thing. Time with regret heals nothing, it keeps you stuck in neutral. And I don't think that is a moment that I would want to stand still forever. You'll just be another glacier.
