Nothing screams summer more than baseball. I'm not the biggest Major League Baseball fan though. I tend to stick with the local community and city leagues, the kind that my little brothers tend to play in. It just feels more organic. If you really think about it, this is the breeding grounds of greatness. Every MLB player started here; young kids playing ball with their friends and looking to have fun. No pressure, no expectations, only dreams and a desire to improve. As a whole, baseball is a sport best viewed in person. You can't imitate smell of fresh cut grass, freshly sifted dirt, and the aroma of roasted sunflower seeds. Today marked the beginning to the CENLA All-Stars tournament. Various teams around the Central Louisiana area (Alexandria, Pineville, Venon, etc..) all join up for a tournament of the very best. The prize: a spot at State and maybe a spot in the famous Little League World Series. We played Venon today and it was nothing short of a straight sha-lacking. 14-0 final score in 5 innings. And even our pitcher threw a PERFECT game. This is probably be the most lopsided game we will have but it was uber impressive. There is something very special about this team. I've watched a lot of baseball in the past but honestly I feel that we took seriously take State. We are that talented. We'll see how it goes.
