Day 274 - 3/17/11

Hello everyone, I have three topics I would like to blog about today so let's begin...

1) Happy St. Patrick's Day! Part of me is still slightly confused on the significance of this holiday but I am not complaining. Much like how I go along with the idea of Labor Day, I happily participated in St. Patty's Day by wearing my green, pinching people (that I knew of course, I don't know where strangers have been), and the cafeteria even served traditional Irish food. I don't know if you remember my previous post about my visit to the Londoner for dinner but I will reiterate that I really like European food so dinner was quite delicious.

2) The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament officially began. If you have read previously, you would know that I created an ESPN bracket pool with some friends of mine. Let's just say my bracket is flirting with disaster at this point. I have high hopes that my picks will pull through tomorrow. Just a word to the wise...March Madness is not for the weak of heart. Some random mid-major conference team will sink a buzzbeater to beat some "supposed" powerhouse team and make you look like a confused and frustrated idiot. Higher seeds will be upset. After a day like mine bracket-wise, you will be upset and wondering if it was better to pick a team by the cooler mascot. But that is the beauty of this tournament, anyone can and will win. I am hopeful for tomorrow though...btw, I didn't know Butler had Andy Samberg playing on their team.

3) Finally, I would like to wish my grandmother (Inang as I call her) a wonderful and joyous 75th birthday! She is the kindest, sweetest person I know. She has worked so hard her whole and I know its such a joy to see her children and her grandchildren be successful and happy. I am who I am because of her. She raised me as a kid and I know that she has instilled in me lessons of respect and hardwork. Part of the thrill of coming back home is getting to see her and knowing that she has cooked something awesome. I get to go home tomorrow for the weekend to celebrate her birthday along with my little brother's. I am excited.
