Day 193 - 12/27/10

People irritate sometimes. Especially when it comes to stupid things like football. The Falcons lost to the Saints tonight. I'm pretty ok with that because at this point in the season both teams are well positioned for the playoffs. What annoys me is the post-game comments I received by some Saints fans. I understand it is just a game. Actually, I found it flattering that my phone was vibrating off the table from the 30+ text messages rubbing the Atlanta's loss in my face. Let me say that never had I ever degraded the Saints team or its fan base. I root for my team, not against anyone else's. I have a lot of respect for that team and its impact on the New Orleans area. The passion and pride exhibit by its fans is second to none. However, when you are personally attacked I take offense to that. I know the difference between joking around with friends. I know how to take a joke but when you get verbally attacked by people you barely know, it's pretty stupid. This is not what sports should be used for. It is utterly ridiculous that people lack sportsmanship. Nobody wants to be around a sore loser. As far as arrogant winners, I suggest they take a jump off a short pier. True winners act like they have been there before.
