So today is a special day. Actually yesterday. My friends from LSU and my friends from Alexandria finally meet. It is like a special melting pit of friendship. Super corny I know. The reason my LSU friends are here is because we are all going to Natchitoches to see the Lights Festival. And tonight we watched TRON!!!!
Seriously, this movie is spectacular.
My facebook status further elaborates...
"
There was a part of Tron that touched my soul and left me inspired and even more hopeful for the future of technology. Oh wait, that was the ENTIRE movie."
The visuals were astounding. The plot was deep and intellectually satisfyingly. Disney has really outdone themselves this time. If you didn't know, you wouldn't even think Disney made it. From the light cycles, disk battles, and air combat scenes, each action sequence was jam-packed with tension and excitement. This movie makes me proud to be an information technology minor. And if I didn't love biology with every ounce of my DNA, this movie could had made me consider changing majors. The main theme of the movie is the utilization of the Grid. The Grid is the fictional (maybe someday real) world of digital information. With the grid, anything is possible. One can rewrite someone's digital DNA and heal diseases for example. Basically, the movie's main conflict is between the creator and the program he created. It is a battle for the idea of perfection and how it is unknown and really in front of all us in each other. It was neat moral. Well I need to stop posting for yesterday. Today is a new day and my friends are calling me.
