Day 94 - 9/19/10

I enjoy just taking pictures of random things that are completely unrelated to any sort of theme I want to talk about today. But, too often that random photo becomes noteworthy because of a later events.

Insert Varsity Theater here.

The Varsity Theater has been my concert headquarters for the past year in Baton Rouge. Varsity has headlined plenty of awesome bands in my short time here. I have already seen G. Love, The Bravery, and Owl City since I've been a student. It's such a great breeding ground for live music. I have made it a goal to see a show at the Varsity every semester. I just love it.

Which brings me to my good news...on October 8th, I will be at the Varsity to see SWITCHFOOT. This concert is going to be ridiculously awesome. Switchfoot's sound is nothing like I have ever heard. Smooth, yet so powerful. Mainstream, yet personal. Honestly, there is a Switchfoot song that can relate to you in any situation. The lead singer Jon Foreman is one of my singer/songwriters of all time. His viewpoint of life through songs have heavily influenced the way I see the world and people. Many of his songs reinforce the core values I believe. This song has been stuck in my head as of late.

October 8th needs to get here soon.
